H. P. Lovecraft was one of Stephen King’s greatest inspirations. Is there a more influential writer of horror than H.P. Lovecraft? If so who and why?

Considering that Lovecraft was heavily influenced by Edgar Allan Poe, the argument could be made that Poe was a more influential writer of horror.

For today’s works, both Poe and Lovecraft hold the title for fathering modern horror. Where Lovecraft would be the Father, Poe would be the Grandfather.
